Have you been wondering what ChatGPT is all about and want to know more about the new openAI? This article will walk you through briefly what ChatGPT is all about.

ChatGPT was made available for Beta testing on December 1, 2022, by its creator. ChatGPT has had over 1 million users since it was made available for Beta testing.

What is ChatGPT and who founded it?

ChatGPT is a conversational chatbot that was developed by Elon Musk-founded independent research body OpenAI and co-founded by its current CEO Sam Altman in 2015.

This conversational chatbot is trained to follow instructions in a prompt and provide a detailed response to the user. Feed the chatbot your query and it answers them for you.

How does ChatGPT work?

According to OpenAI, ChatGPT is a free service, but only during the research preview. This means you can log on to the OpenAI website and Try the ChatGPT button to begin using it. You can either sign up or use your OpenAI account to start using ChatGPT.

OpenAI says,

“We trained an initial model using supervised fine-tuning: human AI trainers provided conversations in which they played both sides—the user and an AI assistant. We gave the trainers access to model-written suggestions to help them compose their responses”.

According to the OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, the platform may be monetized in the future.

ChatGPT limitations?

ChatGPT is the latest tool in auto text-generating AIs. But, it is not free from errors or limitations. below are some of the limitations:

  1. OpenAI, on its website, admits that ChatGPT sometimes writes plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers.
  2. The model is often excessively verbose and overuses certain phrases.
  3. The chatbot is sensitive to how the input is phrased. For example, it may have an answer to a query phrased in one style, but the model may not know the answer if given a slightly different phrase.

Can ChatGPT replace Google search or humans?

We all use Google to find answers to our daily queries. Can we rely on ChatGPT for the same? Now, despite the model being the latest generation of technology, it is not without flaws. The platform’s shortcomings are being pointed out by professionals. Steven T. Piantadosi, a professor at UC Berkeley has shown ChatGPT is not free from biases and that its filters can easily be bypassed with simple tricks, in one of his tweets.

The answer to the question is a simple No. At least for now.
